... Hey man - it's kinda pathetic that these guys are treating you like an idiot, but hey - says more about them huh?
So part of the problem is the time it takes to take off and replace the spindles, whenever you're changing records with different sized holes - and that American 45s have 1.5"-diameter (38mm) centre holes. Pressings made in other countries often have 1/4" (6mm) holes.
Anyway - they've kept the simple solution from you.
What the
"real-pros" (like tic-toc) use to get around your problem, involves a power drill and a set of
these:
You usually can't find 'single' hole-saw bits, as they are bundled in varying quantities. Just make sure you get a set with a 1.5" diameter cutter in it. You'll notice that the "pilot" drill-bit is (not) coincedentally 1/4" - which makes the existing hole in those 'euro' and 33rpm disc's - a perfect
guide hole.
Soooo, you just grab up
any records that don't fit your player. And mod 'em to work, by cutting the proper sized hole in the center.
Easy.
Don't let
anyone discourage you!
