some questions

U can make as good sampled beats with FL as in MPC..
Its just that in FL you dont have pads to play with.. u only click on boxes where the sound is gonna play.. it becomes boring after some months or years. But its very easy to make beats with.. But it worth trying that before Going hardware.

Then u have "Reason" it has good and alot of sounds to use. It might be to complicated for u to use.. but u could try it.

the stock sounds are crap, but you can load any single sound that you can find on the web or around the house. so dont let that stop you from trying it. fl is really powerful and pretty simple to use. there is a plugin called fpc which is an mpc emulation. just go download the demo and start making beats. thats the best thing that you can do.

you dont have to stick with fl at all. but you can learn what putting the kick on the 1's and the snares on the 3's means. you can start the program and start making beats right away, even with the stock sounds. youre not going to be making any radio ready tracks to begin with anyway. you just need to learn the fundamentals.

despite popular belief, ur situation is not speacial....tons of ppl ask the same questions day after day.

Search the forum, google reviews, and hit up youtube for in use videos. you'll have ur answer.

lol, here you have it ladies and gentlemen.. a person who is too lazy to go digging. He downloads various DAW programs just for the sounds it comes with. One sign of this walk of life is that he will never be seen using recycle, wav traveler, edison, or any other daw component that envolves editing imported samples.


Anyone who judges a program by the demo sounds that comes with it (the sounds that are only there to show you how things work) .... here is a hint... get your own samples and be original.

i was only giving the guy some information about the programs i know about,
Anyways i prefer using soundmodules than softsynths.. havent really used reason much tbh

theres always some haters out there who wants to hate on others.. im not botherd.. u should go make some beats instead of wasting your time on me:P

I was just joking around man... lol

the post was just for the humour.. when I posted that I was in that mood. Also I was making a beat earlier but i scrapped the idea because the sample I was messing with wound up not being that great... I just sampled a random piece of a song and didn't go anywhere with it.


Yeah reason you pretty much use what comes with it, however you tweak those knobs and add those effects... dont just use all presets or people will know exactly where it;s from.

if you installed fl studio in the folders that they recommend during installation (you didn't choose your own place for installation..)

go to this folder:

C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio 8\Data\Patches\User


put all the mp3's, wavs, rex files, or what ever audio file you want in there..

you can even put other folders inside like a "kicks" and "snares" folder and place your sounds in them.


now start up fl studio, and in the browser down at the bottom left... you will see "USER" ... click it and you will see your sound(s)

U need a program like audacity to chop your samples.. i have never used audacity just read in this forum about it.. its free and stuff.. search in this forum about it and u will find a link to it..
I use some crappy program called accustica.. u can search a torrent for that one also if u want..

Anyways if u figured out the chopping u make each sample to WAV. and make a new folder in the Fruity loops folder in your harddrive.. it will most likely be in your C:/ harddrive then drag and drop your samples in the folder and u should be able to find the folder on the side when u open fruity loops..

its late here in norway now so im off to sleep maybe some other can explain it better for u if they want to.. ill explain to tomorrow if u want.. if u need help pm me and ill give u my email and ill explein to u.

yeah dont do that.. put the samples where i told you to put them... because if you make a new folder, you will have to go add that folder address in up in the file settings... so that fruity loops knows to look in there.

anyways dont boter using audacit to chop, because fruity loops has slice-x to chop and also te wave traveller which works quite well...
