aesis stopped making their firewire interfaces, behringers suck monkey balls(not al of their stuff, just their interfaced mixers), but Mackie and Allen & Heath have some top of the line stuff, with top of the line prices too. Zed 14, and the Mackie Onyx series, but your lookin at over 800 for each.

while we're talking about this, is it possible to record (with multiple tracks) into the computer using a usb interface that just has like 1 stereo input and has midi?
so could i go from my asr audio outputs and midi outputs into an interface that has inputs for both, then go to the usb of the computer. and then in my daw (garageband for now, protools eventually) multitrack?

lampdog or someone from the asr-10 thread if you see this, yes i am asking the same question that i asked you guys like months ago but i want to get more info

thanks

you could, if you tracked each out individually i.e. mute tracks 2-8, recrd track 1. Mute tracks 1, and 3-8, record track 2, mute tracks 1&2, 4-8, record track 3 and so on, or you could assign your left and right input as mono inputs and record 2 tracks at a time. Does your ASR have 8 outs??

Um they'd not be asking that ? and they'd already have a multi-input

When you've been in the game as long as I have, investing in two interfaces was one of the best investments I made.

My idea was to couple both of them to work with the Adat MDM & 24x8 mixer I still have these in order make 24 physical tracks (and that's not counting the additional virtual tracks that's accessed through the DAW either).

yes, probably, if your audio interface uses 1/4" jacks. you need as many as you need - depends if you want to connect in both directions, mono vs stereo vs individual outputs ... think for yourself

DO not run udio lines into an instrument jack! You will blow the preamp this way, if its a combo xlr/instrument jack, then get a xlr-1/4 inch cable.
