You would have to set it up on another sampler, or you could use a synths drum kit. You could also set it up in your DAW. The idea is that you have one piece of gear, whether its another sampler, a synth, drum machine, or DAW acting as a sound bank, and the MPC would act as a controller.

Set up is as easy as making sure you have the MIDI channel on the MPC match the MIDI channel on the sound bank.
