My PC recognizes .SNDs as "Apple sound file" in the properties menu. I'll repeat myself...My PC recognizes .SNDs created and saved from my MPC on a Zip as "Apple sound file" in the properties menu. Apple makes MACs, no? It's not called MPC Sound file. Or AKAI Sound file. Urban legend my @ss. I may be wrong as to why the MPC's default is .SND, but .SNDs are definitly "Mac-like" enough to be called "Apple Sound File"s.
