have you tried doubling your tempo instead of slowing it down that much?

Re: wrote:I have the mpc 4000, the tempo on the main page is set to 120, I found out when you slow that down to around 35 the metronome click falls every half bar, like a snare. Unorthodox, I know, but thats what I'm working with.

(of course it will be hard to tell since your tempo is cut in half, so fix that first)
birdbrain wrote:so what you're saying is that when you bang out your drum pattern you do so at a different tempo than the sequencer is set to. like it was said before, use the tap tempo feature to get the sequence tempo matched to the one in your head. you also need to learn to play along with the metronome. i think thats a big probelm for you. even if you get the tempo close with the tap tempo feature your stuff will always be off until you get this down.

Re: wrote:alright thanks. I've never even tried tap tempo, didn't even look up what it was in the manual. As far as the metronome the ticking throws me off, like there's too much ticking. That' the reason I started putting the tempo around 35.
help was appreciated.
