they're great for throwing through windows, firewood or .... urmm cant think of anything else they are good for.

if you want a budget monitor, i'd save up a little extra for fostex pm1's, or event tr6's.

I'm gonna have to test tham against the Mackies myself but i reckon these are the way to go, especially for the price.

Still, i want to test out those new Adam A7s too.

Yeah, I've heard only good things about Adam. I've got my speakers about 5 inches from the back wall of my studio. I'll try to post some pics. My room is literally a closet. Tiny. Barely big enough for my gear and maybe 1-2 extra people. I've got to say that after a few days of listening I am extremely impressed and satisfied with these Dynaudios, and just to repeat what I said in a previous post, I did not want to like these best. I went into Guitar Center thinking only Mackie, Event and KRK. These stole the show. All the other speakers sounded fine and if I understand correctly you will have to learn how any speaker translates to other systems so in theory you can mix on just about any decent moniter. I went back to the store three times before deciding. The Dynaudios did it each time. Check out all the moniters you want but make sure you listen to the BM5As.

The Event TR8 are $499.99 for the pair right? For that money you can find a nice used pair of Event 20/20 actives. I believe the 20/20 were Event's flagship moniter before they released the Studio Precision series. I've read good reviews about the TR series and just as many reviews from people who have had problems with them. I read a lot of reviews from people who reported their TR8s picking up radio interference. People rave about the 20/20 Events and I see pairs on Ebay for about that money. I've also heard good things about the Project Studio series from Event. Anyone with these moniters care to comment?

There are actually four or five pair of 20/20 actives on Ebay right now all under $500.

I agree, the 20/20's were the best before the precision series...

I have the PS8's and had the TR8's, the PS8's sound better to me...

as far as radio interference, I never had a problem with that before I moved back to cali, had my PS8's for about 4 years without radio interference and now I get some every now and again but I think its cuz I live right next to the freeway(thank god for those new sound barriers but damn those truck drivin cb freaks )...

im finally pickin the tr8's cause i been spendin some money on other gear and I think im gonna b cool wit these now. but thanx for the comments yall

824's are real If you got the bread I would invest in them. IMO
