you should get a mpc500, learn how to make beats using the mpc so you can learn more about making beats, sequencing, midi, mixing, chopping, arranging, eq, tune, etc. Then once you learn the mpc and outgrow it, you should look back into software and utilize it like the mpc. Mpc's a good teachers but once you graduate, you can make beats on whatever suits your work flow. You can sell the mpc500 and get a midi controller that you like, pads controller that you like, get an interface that suits your needs, and get the software that you think works best for you after you learn more in depth about making beats and know what you want. You can keep an mpc as a part of your setup too.
