I was bored and tried to see if I could take apart my mpd24 without ruining it and it actually worked. It did take a good while until I had every screw unscrewed and the cables disconnected but it is possible to get to the pads to replace them. So I'm also considering changing my pads now with the original mpc pads because they are a little more cushioned and I don't want to end up with arthritis in my hands. I took some pics with my shitty cell phone camera to show you what it looks like once it's opened. The hardest thing to figure out was once all outside and inside screws were unscrewed I still couldn't take off the chasis and the reason why was that on the outside where the knobs are there are four nuts to unscrew which hold the chasis together (watch the picture). Overall it isn't that big of a deal. I was hesitant to disconnect the cables but it's rather easy. So all you have to do is unscrew each one of the black screws (outside and inside),disconnect the two power supply cables and the display cable (on the side of the cable there are two little black things you can pull out a little to loosen the cable) and take care of the nuts of the knobs. You can leave the screws of the display untouched. Just be sure to use a good screw driver and keep order of the screws.
Peace!

Hey Amnaye,
Did you get your mpc pads from mpcstuff.com? How long did it take to get them to Paris and is it a big difference to play the mpd now? Would be cool if you could up a picture of your mpd!Would appreciate it.
Peace!
