Before buying anything I did research. I wanted something portable, but studio ready. Some machines are just for "on the road" stuff then you finish everything back in the studio. I didn't want to spend thousands, but I also wanted an abundance of features. I bought the MPC 1000 & JJ OS and haven't looked back. MPC 1000 & JJ OS = Portable, functional, feature packed & great value. I'd try the 1000 and if it's not what you need, sell it on ebay or here and buy something else.

i bought an mpc1000 back when it was 1.07os just because the hardware was smaller and the memory was way bigger. the mpc2000xl mcd is dated and doesnt suit my needs.. and im not one for sound and all but anything sounds better than flstudio and the mpc was the boom boom ohh and usb love that usb... jj made it better though **** scsi... ya effects wasnt an issue then sense i used soundforge and still do. buy around ur needs and ull see ull have a box or 2 that fits u in ur way not anyone elses. who cares what so and so use its what u use and for what and how.. samplers are what u put in u put out.
