MPC 2000xl + M-Audio 1x1 midisport syncing problems

I read the manual, search forums, search youtube, followed directions, BUT i can not get my MPC to send Midi notes to cubase, adobe audition, in order to put my beat on my PC. Please help, because I am getting so frustrated... I had the m-audio uno...also got the m-audio midisport 1x1...

so far i am able to have my MPC trigger sounds in Reason and Cubase BUT I cannt get Reason sounds on my MPC nor can get my MPC songs on Cubase

midi does not send audio. midi is strictly data. that means that when you hit pad 1, which for example lets say the note c4, the only thing thats going down that midi cable is "c4 on", and when you let go, "c4 off".

you will have to run instrument cables into your audio interface or computer. also check out this site

So In theory if I have:

Cubase, Sonar, etc (any DAW)
MPC 2000xl MCD
M-Audio Midisport ( i actually dont know why I need this)
USB audio interface( Ex. Lexicon)
M-Audio axion 25

and if I connect the wires correctly I can track out my Song from my MPC?

Something is not clicking =o( and i am good at this stuff too

midi DOES NOT have anything to do with AUDIO. when you say connect wires, you are not specifiying whether you are talking about midi CABLES or audio CABLES. if you connect MIDI cables to your interface, you will not be able to record the sounds from the MPC to the computer. you will be able to record the (notes/pad data =MIDI data)that you triggered from the mpc. you need to connect instrument cables from the outputs of the mpc to the inputs of your interface. the only thing that you would need midi for is to slave the mpc to the daw. but to just record, you need audio cables.

actually tweakheads did help and my last post was simply trying to clarify what i read from there.

Connecting the wires correctly = setting up everything so the MPC is the Slave to the DAW .... and in my second post i included a USB audio interface which shows that I read and now understand midi and audio are not equal....

my second post was just to clarify the equipment necessary thats all

and i understand why i would need the midisport as well
