Hi Guys!

I know there has probably been a million posts like this on this
forum in the past. Well here it goes, a million and one! (lol) I've
recently made some purchases to start assembling my home set-up. As
it happens, I'm pretty good on the "creating music" end, but
horrible with the "connecting stuff" part. So I need help making my
MIDI connections. I guess I'll start by listing my pieces and their
prospective INs and OUTs.

-DRUMS/SAMPLING/SEQUENCING
Akai MPC 2500 (2 ins, 4 outs)

-KEYBOARD SOUNDS (RACK)
Roland Fantom XR /rack (1 in, 1 out, 1 thru)
Yamaha Motif-Rack ES (1 in, 1 out, 1 thru)

-MIDI CONTROLLER
M-Audio Oxygen 49 (1 out)

-MIDI INTERFACE
Roland Edirol UA-25 (1 in, 1 out)

And, if it helps set up for future additions, I also own:

-MIDI THRU BOX
Midi Solutions T8 (1 in, 8 outs)

I would essentially like to create and sequence my songs (drums,
samples, and keyboard sounds) entirely on the MPC, then record the
arranged songs to my computer, where I then can add vocals,
scratches, etc; then mixdown on my software.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
mannyd

Mpc as center piece.

Mpc midioutput 1: cable to fantom in
mpc midioutput 2: cable to motif
Hook audio outputs to pc's audio interface/ mixer

Oxygen out: cable to mpc in

Mpc midioutput 3: cable to edirol inteface in.

Mpc audio outputs audio interface/ mixer

THAT'S GREAT. THANKS ALOT! THAT'S GONNA BE A GREAT HELP.

JUST A QUICK QUESTION THOUGH. WILL INCORPERATING THE MIDI THRU BOX NOW, MAKE IT EASIER TO ADD ADDITION PIECES IN THE FUTURE? I HEARD SOMEONE MENTION THIS, SO I WAS JUST WONDERING IF IT WAS TRUE.

However u not really need it right now, it's best to incorporate the midi thru box. Then u can plug in extra midi devices whenever you want to. You can hook it up directly to the mpc (if this will be ur dedicated midi sequencer), or u can hook it up to the edirol interface and plugin ur mpc midi out and other stuff. Mind to check ur midi settings, and good luck man.
