What's good everyone..

aight here's my problem.. I'm trackin to Pro Tools, I can see a signal in PT, but I can't get it to record anything..

here's my set up..

Pro Tools / Digi 003
Mackie 32.8 Board
Mpc 3000
Synths

I have my midi in/out from mpc / pro tools, and also for my MPC / Keyboards

audios out going to my Mackie, and then bussin that audio to my Digo 003 ins

I can see a signal in Pro Tools on my Audio Tracks, but I can't get anything to record........ why is that?

also.. I've heard of people going to their mixer settings on their mpc and routing the outs.. but that's only if I want to use my individual outs as well, right?

i'm using Audio tracks - but they show a signal BEFORE I record, not while recrording.. nothing shows when I'm recording - no signal, and of course, no wav's

oh and another thing..

when I press play on my MPC, I can see a signal in Pro Tools, but when I press play in Pro Tools, there is no signal

if I put my track to "Input Only Monitoring" I can hear the audio. I if I arm the track, record ready on pro tools, and press playstart on my MPC, then it will record the beat to Pro Tools..

I have a couple questions, though..

1: Pro Tools won't record on time with my MPC - it lags a little in the start.. the Tempo's are the same..

2: why can't I press Play in Pro Tools and it starts recording? why do I have to press play on the MPC for it to start to record?

please someone help me with this :S I have a beat I need to have saved to Pro Tools today and I can't get it saved in..

Because you have the mpc set as the master sequencing controller. You need to set pro tools to be the master if you want to do as you discribed (including setting the mpc to slave via mtc or midi clock).

When in Midi/sync in the MPC, you should be setting the MPC to slave.

Search and find the thread for protools + mpc, by "Dominique".
