MPC 1000 ver 1 QUESTION PLEASE HELP ME

ok, I just got my mpc 1000 a week ago. At the moment its getting a harddrive installed because the 32 mb wasnt enough at all.
its a version 1.6 i think or sumthing like that, but ANYWAY.
When ever I record a drum pattern, i play it, and it sounds off beat and completely different to how i recorded it.
Can someone please tell me how to make it stop doing that.

on the main screen F1 should say T.C above it. Scroll to off, this should do it, i had this problem wen i first got myn ; )
