Studio setup help

My Studio setup is a Mpc 2000xl,Roland jv880,ALESIS QS6,Numark 8 track mixer, Tascam Dp-02 digital recorder. Now this is my problem i can't record my alesis keyboard sound with my mpc as the sequencer, and i don't know how to record with my digital recorder (I don't know how to transfer my sounds to my digital recorder and record them.) Maybe i need help with how i hook everything up.

Question, could you give a brief discription of how you got your gear hooked up? Although if it were me, my midi connections would go like this...I'd connect the QS6 to and from the mpc via midi, midi out from mpc to JV880, all audio outs to audio inputs on the mixer, and finally interface the mixer to the recorder and you should be ok.

And one additional question, is the Numark an 8 channel mixer or 8 track mixer?

Maybe you should start of by going through your manuals to find out how each piece works and how to connect to other hardware. Some basic knowledge of MIDI and RECORDING AUDIO will also prove to be very handy if you intend to produce music.

Take a look around (and search) the forums, in particular the 'Getting Started', 'MPC2000XL' and 'MPC Studio Environments' sections. You'll find that most questions you may have will have already been answered to some degree.

I have it the same way you mention it. My numark is a 2 channel mixer.

Then we've got problems. How are you going to send those stereo outputs from those three pieces you have and only have a 2 channel mixer.

Take Clints advice and familiarize yourself with what you're working with, it'll pay off in the long run.

Nah they play and i heard all of them but the piano sounds won't record. And i don't know how to use the digital recorder.
