i'm new to this mpc world, but damn i love making music

i cant afford them fancy monitors just yet, but i have these decent speakers.

so here's the deal i have a mpc 1000 running the stereo outs to the mbox 2 trs inputs 1 and 2
and i got no sounds coming out of my computer speakers. tried messing with the knobs to see
if any sounds would come out. what the heck am i doing wrong?!

I assume your speakers have the 1/8" male connector on them.

More than likely you've got both the mbox and the computers' soundcard activated. You'll probably need to grab yourself a couple of 1/8" to 1/4" jack adapters so you can plug these into the mbox and plug each speaker into each adapter.

the computer speakers only has one 1/8 male. do i need a Y cable to connect it to the monitor OUT in the mbox?

If there's a some how some way method you can get a pair of these...M-Audio StudioPro 3 Monitors, you'll be a cut above from where you are now.

And to be honest, do away with those computer speakers. IMO, they'll do more harm than good.
