MPC 1000...need help loading drum sounds/samples!

I searched long and hard and have yet to find an answer to my question.

When loading sounds I select:
1. Mode
2. Pad2
3. the file I want
4. Do it

My question is, when I'm on the main page, how do I find these sounds which I have just loaded?
Also, if I load a song which I want to sample, no icon (for example sample, program, sequence, etc.) is displayed next to it. Because of this the F buttons display no options...

I have followed the manual instructions sooo many times with no success.

Did u press the pad you wanted the sample to be in?

I am having the same issue, I just bought a MCP1000 that came with sounds loaded on memory card but I can't figure out how to load them up to make a loop. I press load and I can pick the drums folder but after that I am stuck. I am a newbie so forgive me

OK.. in main screen in "program" Select Program 001 if u have it or simply make a new program by "MODE" then Pad6..
From there go to the "PGM:"and press window( the one with a white light ) select "new".

Now i the main screen select the program u made and go to your harddrive by pressing "MODE" and Pad2...
Use the cursor to go in to the folders( i think that is BMOG's problem)
Select one sample u want to use by pressing "DO IT" and hit the pad u want it to be in and press "DO IT" again.
NOW the sample should be in the pad......

I did make progress by using the arrows once I got to the folder, the arrows allowed me to go down to the samples. Also I had to change my view from all to samples, so if I understand this correctly programs will automatically load the pads with sounds?

Has ANYBODY thought to look in the manual?

I thought I had a long way to go!! I don't even know what the **** people are talking about half the time on here. Gutted for you guys still stuck on loading sounds!!

I swear I have a faulty MPC. Every person I've given it to is unable to figure it out...and its something as simple as loading sounds. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
