mpc 1000 and midi keyboard

Hello I'm new here,
I just bought an mpc 1000,
and I'm wondering if it is possible to connect the mpc to my midi keyboard and play and record bas lines with samples from the mpc
]I dont find anything in the manual.
I want to play my own bas lines and fender rhodes stuf.to the beats
but not with samples who have already the melody .
can anybody help me with this?
wich samples should I download?

I have already trouble finding the time to make my own beats.
