Nah dude, you have one port that'll work properly in your case, and that's "line in".

The computers' stock soundcard is really only good for general recording purposes. You won't get the same sound/functions out of it as you would a dedicated audio interface. Your sounds & beats won't compare to the next guy who has a MOTU, RMI or M-Audio or whatever.

Before I purchased my first pro sound card, I went the route of thinking that pluging in a 1/8 in. stereo jack would be the way to go, but unfortunately I was wrong.

Look into investing in a good audio interface, your sound will love you for it.

If you want to record samples from your computer to your mpc, use the digital out to the digital in on your mpc. Everything stays digital so you won't get a poor quality D/A conversion of your soundcard's converters. But, once you make a beat and record back in, you won't be all that happy. Even a $100 M-Audio PCI card will do wonders over what you got. Back in the day, i was using a Behringer mixer with a radio shack mic and upgrading my soundcard with that bad of equipment made a big difference.

use the USB cabe to drag files to and from your mpc and pc. you don't need a soundcard to do that.
