I know this is probably a long shot but I'm looking for some help with setting up my mpc 500 to integrate with logic 8 and to control 2 midi synths. so far I have my midi interface out going to the in of the first synth. The thru from that synth goes to the in on the second synth. The through from the second synth going to the in on the mpc. I'm pretty sure I have the midi set up correctly on the mpc coz as soon as I take it out of the loop to control the 2 synths, I've got no problem playing the synths from the mpc. Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers

I don't use a 500, but I'd still put that prior to the synths in the Midi routing chain.

1) Mpc 500 > Midi OUT > Synth 1 Midi IN > THRU > Midi 2 IN

or if applicable...

1) MPC 500 > Audio Interface Midi IN > LOGIC > Interface Midi OUT > Synth 1 Midi IN > THRU > Synth 2 Midi IN

In the latter setup the synths will be controlled by Logic.

If one of those synths has a keyboard to it you may want to put that one before the MPC though and just turn it's Local OFF so that you can play chords comfortably into the MPC's sequencer via the keys but maintain it's sound module features without "double triggering". The audio outputs from the MPC and synths go into your audio interface's audio inputs and into Logic...unless you're trying to sample one of them in the MPC. :D
