getting beats from mpc to cd

I found that my takes sound better going straight from the daw to an external cd burner. Everybody has their own secret methods, this is just one of mine.

You can also connect the output of your MPC to the input of a cd-recorder, just be sure to know that stand-alone cd-recorders accept audio-cdr or music-cdr disks only. Computers will burn on any cdr.

Somewhat true, but this would apply to consumer based cd recorders. I use a Sony CDR-W33 and it's a true pro level cd recorder. It'll accept any cd-r or cd-rw disk unlike the ones that require music only cd-r disk.

And the other difference is that I don't use its analog inputs. I prefer going optical out from the s/c to optical in on the cd recorder. The results can't even compare.

:o Great insight Dab on the optical cables. I connected the optical out from my Tascam PortaStudio to the cd-recorder and tried that out. Damn what a difference, its like a fresh water stream of pure sound compared to the tap waters of analog.

Cool. Plus this is something you can start doing if you're not already doing this. Instead of using headphone outs on the cd recorder, try using the anolog outs instead for realtime monitoring. The recorder will act as a s/c because it's handling the ad/da conversion from that point anyway.
