Sup guys.

Just got my first MPC. Decided to go with the MPC500 for budget purposes.

Haven't been making beats terribly long but I've decided to invest in some gear, instead of just using digital software since it's something I can sit down and get started with, and all of a sudden it's 8 hours later.

Anyway. Here's my lil' problem. Hope someone here can give some advice, since I'm not that technical when it comes to setting up music hardware. (You don't want to know how long it took me to get my first turntable running with the amp hah).

Okay. Here's my gear setup.

Nevermind the software for my PC...

Hardware:

M-Audio Axiom 49 (Irrelevant, connected with USB to PC)

MPC500 (Didn't come with a USB cable... But I'll get that, anyway hooking it up to PC is irrelevant).

Numark TT1610 recordplayer x 2 (Just using 1 for now)

Numark DM950 Amp

Behringer cheap ass U-control UCA202 USB Soundcard (connected with USB to PC and to my speakers)

I've searched a bit through the forums and checked the stickies and what not but I can't seem to find the solution to my problem here.

I used to hook up my recordplayer to my amp/mixer or whatever, and then connect mixer to the soundcard. Mixer output into soundcard input and that way out to my cheap PC speakers. Worked like a charm, well I mean it worked, it played sound. And if I wanted to sample I had to record the wave file on my pc with a freeware program. Was fun, but not really optimal right.

With the MPC now I have no idea how to hook this up so I can actually make sound come out of the MPCs headphone output, or through my PC speakers as well... That would work best for me.

I have most cables needed I think. I just don't know how to connect which to what...

I've tried connecting mixer output into MPC input, and MPC output into my USB soundcard. Didn't work. No sound when I played the record on the Numark recordplayer, and no sound using the MPCs demo sounds (except when I plug headphones into it of course.. But I need it to play through speakers).

Any ideas? Would appreciate it a lot! Thanks for for any constructive help! Hope you got enough info here to give me a tip or a solution to this setup problem.

Peace.

Alright. Solution in the short run I guess is just having my recordplayer+amp connected to the USB soundcard like normally. Then I could connect USB output, into MPC500 recording input right.

I guess that would make me able to record records into the MPC. And I could still hear the vinyl play music like normally.

Only problem there is I still won't be able to hear MPC sounds on my speakers, and I'd have to resort to sticking with these Numark Headphones that just don't play the sound that well even with the volume jacked up all the way.

Other option here could be...

MPC500 Output goes into USB Soundcard Input.

Recordplayer to the AMP. AMP Output into MPC500 Recording Input.

Buuut... No sound coming out of my speakers when I do that.

(Recordplayer sound isn't coming.... MPC sound is coming out of course... )

Any advice? I'm usually a patient man but this is just killing me.

I hate to bump this but seeing as I'm on vacation I got nothing better to do..

So is there no replies yet because I'm asking some silly questions oooor does no one know what I'm talking about here in my original posts?

By the way, I'm a bit scared that I'm having these issues with the set-up because of my amp or because of my usb soundcard.. Tell me it aint so! ???
