Akai OS for formatting new 2 gig CF Card ?

Hi guys ...

Just about to format my very first 2 gig cf card in my very first MPC1000 ( still grining from ear to ear ) ...

However, I read somewhere that formatting the new cf card via the Akai OS can lead to problems with the cf cards - is this so ?

I havent'installed JJOS, although I have downloaded the 'free' version of it to my PC. my intention is to actually spend a month of so getting to grips with the basic Akai OS and then eventually moving onot the JJ free, maybe for a couple of months before finally paying for the JJOS proper.

Any advice on the formatting issue would be appreciated.

Skip the Akai OS and go straight to the JJOS.... This is just my opinion... I did what you have planned and I fee las though I wasted a month on the Akai OS.

I do not remember any formatting problems... But I did get mines b4 tis newest Akais OS.....


When in doubt follow the manual...

I have the same question but I guess I'm just gonna format the drive manually. I'm using a CF card from my camera.

There's nothing on the manual on formatting CF cards.

yeah, go straight to jjos. there's no use or advantage "learning" on the akai os.
and yes, you need to format your card first.
