Problem with sample dropping out

I have an MPC 2500. I have a 4 bar bass sample that I played myself and direct recorded into the mpc. For some reason in ceratin sequences, the 4 bar bass line stops playing midway through. I checked and made sure that the pad was set to "one shot". I also hit the pad to make sure it played out. I also checked in parameters to make sure all samples play "poly", have the voice overlap as poly, and had no mute targets or mute groups set. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Does it consistently not finish (as in everytime you hit the pad even when the sequence isn't playing)? Or only sometimes?

This might seem stupid because you obviously know your way around the MPC some, but have you looked at the Trim? Maybe you accidentally trimmed it or something?
