the reasons people upgrade their mpc?

whats your reason on why you did, if you did?



when you "memory upgrade" what exactly is that doing to the mpc? giving it memory to where, so it can do what?


and when you put a internal hardrive in, thats basically giving you space to save your work onto your mpc right?


and a EFFECTS BOARD ... anyone have this? this adds effects like delays an such?

I'll school u quikly since I'm borred as hell at work at the moment

Memory upgrade is the RAM expension. So u'll get more ram. In ram memory is where all ur samples are when u upload them. Ram equals sample time.
If u have 16mb of ram, u can have something like 60 seconds of stereo samples loaded up in ur ram, or 136 seconds of mono samples. So more space is more sampling memory.

The internal harddrive is voor data storage. Samples, sequences, programs, etc.

Fx Board does exactly what the word says it does: adding common fx, like reverb, delay, compresion etc.

I upgraded from a 500 to a 1000, because I needed a strong workstation. And the 500 couldn't offer me everything I needed.
