mpc to macbook

would it be possible to directly upload my tracks in the mpc to my macbook via usb, totally bypassing a 3rd party sofware (protools, ableton...)?

yeah, you can copy what you make (tracks, sequesnces, programs, etc.) in the mpc to your comps hard drive. but as far as i know, you will need a third party to read the files, as they are mpc-specific.

Dont know which MPC you have, but you can record the stereo audio outputs directly to a macbook via an audio interface and a recording program of some description. You may be able to bypass the audio interface by using the macbooks mic input but a dedicated audio interface is far more useful.

Logic or Logic Express are not third party as they too are made by Apple so I'd recommend them. Also check out Audacity which is a very good FREEWARE audio recording program.

i have an mpc 500, i got a 1/4 to 1/8th jack (basically its a 1/8 and 1/8 but with a 1/4 headphone jack sized thing that plugs in on top of the 1/8 to fit the computer jack..the whole chordes about 8 inches long in total..

i plugged the 1/8 side into mpc, other into the mac then went into audacity (free program, good for macs which is what im using) then i just hit record in audacity while the sequence on the mpc is playing...

once thats done, itl only play from one speaker, so then change the already recorded track from mono to stereo and then normalize it , which is a feature that basically turns up the sound! see how that works,

yeas, you can easily do that.
you've got usb on the 2500, right?
if so, resample each track and then drag and drop into your mac using usb. no tracking out needed.

to make each track line up properly when placed in a DAW, place one bar of sharp snare hits at the beginning of each resampled track. do that in the song function. when lined up just delete the snares.

all you have to do is record it into garageband and you're set

what i do is:

MPC - two output cords - splitter - M-Audio FastTrack - usb of macbook - garageband

and i just record it

m-audio fasttrack is cheap, its like a usb thing to the computer
its worth it, get it if you can. if not -

It depends on how good your soundcard is on your comp i think
