Hi, i am very new to the whole beat production thing and decided to get a MPC 1000, at first i could sample from my deck (1210) with no probs and was getting crystal clear sound. but then i sent my deck in for a service and since then im getting this horrible feed back noise whenever i plug my deck directly into the audio in sockets.
I have an idea as to what the problem might be but i just wanted some confirmation.
When the decks were serviced the guy installed gold plated phone cables. the 1/4 TO 3MM phono adapters that i use for connecting the phono cables to the mpc are just cheep crappy ones. could it be because i am not using gold connectors to connect the now gold plated phono cables?
If this is not the case would anyone be so kind to give me a few pointer.

i was just using headphones tbh, but when i want sound out of it on my monitors i just plug it into one of phono sockets instead of a deck
