easiest way to get my music on my mac?

got an mpc500, love it. my question:

what is the quickest, easiest, cheapest way to get my mpc files to be read on my mac.

i would love to be able to make a beat and convert it to MP3 or similar format so that i can mess with it in garage band, but as of now, gb cant understand the format.


i dont have the money to spend on logic or else i would do that. thanks in advance for any replies! im itching to make music!

the audio on the mpc is WAV files. you don't need to convert files to use them in gb or other DAWs.
the easiest way to get to/from mpc/computer is with the usb cable. yiu just drag and drop -- no conversion.

logic express is a great program, even version 7 would be good. have a look around.

^That's good if you want to drag samples to the computer, but what's the point of owning an MPC then? You could achieve the same thing sampling directly into the computer. If you have an MPC I assume you bought it out of interest in its functions such as its sequencer and being able to bang out beats on pads(drum machine). Make full tracks then do what Bedouin said, record them. You will need a cable from the MPC out to the computer input. MPC's have stereo 1/4" outputs and unless you bought an audio interface your mac probably has a sony(AKA 1/8" AKA miniplug AKA headphone jack) input. Thus you need to get a stereo 1/4" to sony cable.

I would say the TRUE cheapest and easiest way would be for him to resample his sequence in the MPC. The 500 does this, and does it well.

resample? i dont have my manual with me, but do you mean resample as in save as a different format? sorry im a little computer impared.
