save on MPC500

Hi i am new to MPC500. I tried to save changes(name,record new samples) that i made on sequences but when i turn it off and on again everything goes back to the factory preset again. How can i get rid of that? i did like what it says in manual sequence>param>save. Then i tried mode>Pad3 as well but still the same result

Another problem i found is that my recorded sample play back differently(sound slower, lower pitch) is that something to do with sample rate? how can i fix this?
