Hey, i'm still new with my mpc 1000 and trying to sort out the basics.
After reading the manual I couldn't find the answer to this.
I would like to know how to switch between different styles of playback on the mpc, meaning
how do I get all of my samples to play simultaneously after they are layed out on the pads? So I can hear what
they all sound like together, AND how do I get my samples to only play one at a time, so if I hit another pad the previous sample would be cut off.

I just recently chopped a break and assigned to each pad, but I couldn't play all the sounds together afterwards. Only one at a time.

Thanks in advance

You've got to change settings in Program Mode. Make sure the option field in the top-right corner of your screen (after you hit Params) says "Poly" and not "Mono".

Also, to get one pad to cut off/stop playing the previous pad, you need to instruct the next pad to mute the previous pad in Program Mode again: e.g.
-Go into program mode
-Hit pad 2 (to cut off pad 1)
-Press "Params"
-Scroll cursor down to "mute target"
-Hit the pad you want pad 2 to mute (in this example, hit pad 1)
-Press "main" to take you out again
-OR, move onto the next pad and repeat above steps until you have one pad muting the next and so on.....

Hope that helps. PM me if you're still having trouble.
