The loop lock feature in the triming mode....?

What exactly does this do? I believe this feature is suppose the lock the parameters you set for one loop and use those same parameters when you select another loop at a different point in the song. However, I have not been able to get this to work properly. Hell, that might not even be what it used for. Could someone shed some light...

No, I think it is used to lock the loop points to the start and end points in the Trim page. This should be explained in the manual as well, no matter which MPC you are using.

I kind of figured that but whats of point of locking start and end points when you can just hold the 13 pad to listen back to the loop. I read the manual and it seemed kind of unclear as to what the padlock was for. Oh, well it doesn't do what thought it the lock feature was there for... 'preciate the reply.

Sounds like you do not really understand yet what the Loop feature is for. It's not about previewing the sample in Trim mode. You can set a looped region independently from the start and end points. That way you can start from the beginning, and when the sample ends, it only loops a section at the end - for example. This is how you make sustained samples. If you want to loop the whole sample with "Note Off" setting for example, the Loop start and end points need to be the same as the Trim start and end points. That's what the Lock is for.
