what up guys, i have an mpc 1000 and a yami mm6 hooked up to my stereo system. got the midi cables hookd back and fourth of the in and outs of both units. the keyboard is local on external clock on. the mpc settings are correct as per manual. problem is i want to record the sounds on my keyboard over a drum loop i made on my mpc and save it to the cf card in the mpc. is there any equipment i need for this such as a mixer? if so does anyone have any suggestions for a cheap mixer with phantom power to hook all this equipment up to? my goal is to be able to lay track by track from both the mm6 and the mpc together and play it together...or would a daw do the trick? sorry for the noob questions and any input is greatly appreciated

If i were u i would record midi in to the mpc instead of recording in to your mm6.
Anyways when u have recorded in to mpc or your keyboard you need to track it out to a DAW.

You have a manual and you've joined this forum, time to get reading...

plug the audio outs of the synth into the record in of the mpc.
turn "thru" on and i think "monitor on" as well, so when you play the synth you can hear it on the stereo. early morning here -- check the manual.

start your drum loop, and record either the midi or the audio from your synth.
when you have the midi right, then record the audio. trim. assign to a pad, and place at the same time your first midi note is.

if you don't use midi, after triming and assigning to a pad, just play back the sample where you want it.
you can even chop up your synth line and replay each part on the pads.
