all, here's what i want to do.
i want to sequence a bunch of 'songs' of different 12 or 16 or 24 bar sequences, each having different sounds. i'm sure that is pretty straight forward. now let's say i have 5 or 6 different 16 bar loops saved as song1 song2 ... song5, etc. what i would like to do is have song1 looping for an indefinite amount of time, then i want to send a midi message of some sort and have the mpc transition to song2 (or song4 or song9) at the end of the current loop.
i've tried to figure out if this is possible by reading the manuals of the different JJ OS's and the 500, but am still confused.
can i have one song looping, send some kind of midi command, and move to another song 'in time' at the end of the current one?
ps, i may be using the words song, sequence, pattern, etc incorrectly. i hope my objective is still clear. i'm looking at the mpc 500 or 1000 with or without jj os, with the mpc as master or slave, whichever will allow this (usually a device will technically need to be clock slave to respond to the actual song select message)
