What setup to go for..

Hey Guys.
Im looking into getting an MPC but i need some help on choosing the correct one. At the moment i have a macbook running logic. i have 2 controllers, an M-Audio keystation and an AKAI MPD16. It's been fun playing around and learning but now i want to get more serious.

I like Logic, i know it well and so would prefer to keep using it. in all honesty all i really want to do is grab samples off vinyl, chop things up and make new beats. then start layering synths over the top etc...

im thinking of this setup:
MicroKorg - Cheap enough and seems a good place to begin
M - Audio Project mix I/O
Turntable and DJ Mixer i already own
And then an MPC

is there anything the 1000 doesnt do that the 2500 does? or would a 500 do me just as well?

Samples i can get, thats part the fun right? learning how to use the mpc doesnt seem to be a problem. from reading this forum alone i can see the first place to start is the manual, and then tutorials...

Any help guys would be greatly appreciated

U already have the right tools to sample off vinyl. Maybe u only need some software for chopping, something like recycle.
Because u also said u still want to use logic and ur controlers.

I think that buying an mpc is only useful if u want to be able to keep a lot of things into one box. (for the sequencer/sampler/controler part).

What kind of mpc suits u best really depends on how u want to use it, what ur priorities are, and ur budget of course.

i want to get away from using the laptop for everything. i really only want to use it to record. i have been toying with the idea of getting a 1000 for a while but have been put off by the countless stories ive heard of the build quality of them, in particular the pads failing. is this something AKAI have sorted? or is it worth the extra 400 bob for the 2500?money isnt a major issue. just means a few more months saving...

If money is not an issue get the 2500.
1000 will do the job too, but the 2500 has better pads indeed. Buttons feel a little bit stronger on the 2500, and if u want to do everything in one machine then the 2500 gives u more comfort.(tilt screen, more dedicated buttons and more outputs)
