What gear should I buy?

Problem is I am moving to Japan next year so I want something portable.

Option 1: a fantom x6 for 750 + flight case for $250

option 2: mpc 1000 + a midi controler keyboard + a synth(mopho, or emu mp7 idk)

What would be better? I think having the mpc and fantom would be redundant?

Whatever you buy, make sure you get a transformer or some sort of box to plug your sh*t into in case the voltages in Japan are different than where you are/where you buy your music box from.

see, thats thee problem wit beatsmiths today, always thinkin to go gusto ( large ) & not realizing they need to stay simple

He was asking a simple question on what he should buy...

What kind of music are interested in making i.e. synthy or sample based???or both??

the mpc100 is fine for 100-240volts. no transformers needed. just change the iec cable.

I am interested In making hip hop, sample based but not 100% of sounds 100% of the time, but I also want synth type of sounds. For blips, lead sounds, and bass.

workstation type sounds, piano, strings, brass are also important. but that might be easier to get in a DAW software.

there is an electronics district in tokyo called akihabara I will be hitting up if i need to get converters or transformers. I do have a japanese toilet seat here in the US that uses a transformers but that could be different.

Buying anything at akihabara gets expensive. If you know now that you'll need it when you get there, buy in the US
