MIDI HOOKUP: MO PHATT - KEYBOARD - MPC 2000

Please be patient with me as i am new to this. I am simply trying to use my keyboard to control the Mo Phatt so that I can record a performance on the MPC. I have my percussions laid down in the MPC and I want to play strings from the Mo Phatt into a sequence on the MPC.

MIDI OUT from MPC to MIDI IN of MO PHATT

MIDI OUT of KEYBOARD to MIDI IN on MPC

Set DRUM to MIDI and select a MIDI channel on MPC

Is this setup correct?

Do I need to run audio out from MPC to my mixer AND audio out from the Mo Phatt to the mixer? Any help would be appreciated.

yes u need to run both audio outs so you can hear both.
