Hello
I just updated my MPC 1000 to the OS2 4.99 version. So far, I´ve been working with a 16MB internal memory ana 4GB card with no problem: lenght of audio inputs for sampling, extracting portions ofa sampled audio, etc. Well, since I installed the OS2, I can´t record more than 28 seconds and everytime I try to load or extract wav. samples or extracting portions from a sampled audio, t reads INSUFFICEINT MEMORY. I tried to free up space by overwriting the internal mmeory default sounds, my CF card is up to 4GB. Obviously the problem lies on the new OS which may take a lot of internal RAM. Is there any way I can recover the previous OS ( I can´t even remember the code ) or free up space? If install this version, am I necesarily in need of a expansion 128 MB chip n order to work?
Thank
P

get the original os from akaipro.com.

you answered your own question about the ram. you can get ram cheap now days. why not spend a few bucks and go get it. they practically give 128 chips away

Cozy,
Thanks a lot for your answer. Just one more thing, do the non-akai 128 RAM slots work as good as Akai ones? I´ve found someone in Spain, where I live, who sells a Kingston KVR133X64C3/128 very cheap, but I don´t know if it has to be a specific model.
Thank you and take care
