Sample Rates

Hi all,

I'm making my final few decisions on purchasing my first mpc, and was wondering if the difference between 16bit and 24 bit recording is noticable on the akais?

I understand that the higher resolution means you can capture a more accurate recording of what you're sampling, but i also think a bit of dirt is never a bad thing when sampling.

Any ideas or thoughts are more than appreciated.

That is a good point, obviously i'd like the option but then it can't be too bad a thing or else you wouldn't get most of the top producers out there rocking the 3000, 1000, 5000 or even the 60. As far as i'm aware only the 4000 offers 24bit sampling right?

and keep in mind that 16 bit is the standard for CD quality audio also.

would a 24 bit machine essentially give you a harder kicK, compared to a 16 bit

I don't think it would give you a harder kick, but it would give you a truer representation of the kick you sampled.
