So I've had my mpc 1000 for maybe a month now, and can use it just fine as far as getting around it and working with it. I started out by doing some basic sampled hip hop type beats which don't sound too bad. My problem is that I am not looking to make straight hip hop beats. I've been wanting to get into making more electronic music, but with hip hop type drum beats. A good example of the genre i'm going for is somewhat like Eliot Lipp's "Rap Tight" or songs by Modeselektor,General Midi, Velours Perfect and Dj Egadz. I'm not sure where to start as far as building theese tracks. I've tried many times and it never comes out very well. Where do people begin on building theese kind of tracks? Any help would be apreciated.
