MPC 5000 cable connection question

I have a M-Audio Project Mix and I want to know if I can hook my MPC5000 up to it using a Y TRS cable. I want to save space in the back of my M-Audio Project Mix and use a cable with two ends from the MPC right channel and left channel, to the M-Audio with one end.

Can someone please help me and tell me if that will work? Or do I just need two separate TRS cables? Please let me know.

no. each input on the project mixer is mono. you need a cable for each channel.

the project mixer also has S/PDIF digital I/O -- as does your mpc. you could hook the two up using digital and save your analogue inputs.

no problem. that's a nice looking mixer/controller.
i also noticed that both the mixer and mpc have ADAT as well as SPDIF. so you have two choices for a digital connection. no idea if one is better than the other.

also, i think there are two different types of S/PDIF cables. not sure what the differences are, but might to check which one when getting cables.

Yeah Sam Ash was real disrespectful when I asked them for a lil education. Also I wanted to know when I get those S/PDIF cables and hook my MPC up to my M-Audio Project Mix, will I have sound coming out of the M-Audio through the speakers as if I hooked up TRS cables? One S/PDIF cable will allow me to have right and left channel monitoring capabilities still?? That's what I want.

I have sound coming from two channels/monitors already with the Monitors I have hooked up in the M-Audio Project Mix, but I want to be able to make beats on the MPC and hear them through the project mix, through the monitors, and if one cable will allow me to do that, I'm in there!
