Sampling on CF Card

Hi

I have just bought a CF 2Gb card for my mpc 1000 with jj os 1, formatted on the mpc. however when i'm trying to record samples i seem only to be able to record a maximum of 20 seconds... im almost brand new to the mpc so there is probably something obvious i havent done??? does RAM come into play in terms of record time? when i go into save window it shows there is 2gb free.

any help would be well appreciated.

when you are working on a beat everything is saved to RAM. The Cards and HD are for storage only.
