sound card problems Need major help

What up people, I got this m-audio fast track pro soundcard and got some issues with it. I'm trying to drop sound from my keyboard and mpc 1000 into cubase Le. But for some reason I dont hear any sound from my keyboard or my mpc, instead I hear some built up distortion that gets louder and louder. I wanna know if I have something connected incorrectly or if there's something else wrong. All I'm trying to do is dump the beat I made with my board and my mpc into cubase. Help please, thanks !

try checking to see if you set the m-audio as your main sound output. be sure to arm the tracks before you play/record them. (the little red record icon)

also check to see if your cables are ALL THE WAY inserted. if they arent all the way in the m-audio, they will make a staticky noise.
