Alright, I've read BOTH manuals, but I'm still kind of confused. I'm trying to record sounds from my MINIAK right into my MPC 1000.

Okay, so I took a MIDI cable and ran it from the OUT slot of my MINIAK to the IN slot of my MPC 1000. After looking at BOTH diagrams in the manuals, I believe I'm doing the right thing.

Then, I took another MIDI cable and ran it from the IN slot of MINIAK to the OUT slot of my MPC 1000. It seems to record just fine into the MPC 1000.

HOWEVER, I still have one question: after I record a specific sound into my MPC 1000, it changes when I begin changing sound banks in my MINIAK. I've read some stuff on here about this problem, but people are saying stuff about adding another program (.pgm) to the MPC 1000.

It's not possible to have TWO PROGRAMS running on the MPC 1000 at once, is it??? And if it is, how would I go about doing this???

is your synth multitimbral? if yes, then turn multitimbral on, assign different midi channels to each sound you want and use. then on the mpc, choose the corresponding midi channels for each track matching the midi channels you chose on your synth.

or just record the midi for one sound, edit the midi till it sounds good. then sample or record as an audio track.
then move onto the next sound and repeat.
