i just bought a tascam us 144 mk2 interface is this a good starter interface or should i save up some more cash to get a better one it works ok (drivers etc.) but i plan on getting more equipment do i need more ins outs im really stuck on what to do i have a mpc 1000 reason 4.0 cubase axiom 49 turntables and plan on buying a mixer, sound module, synth i just want to make sure i am making the right descision any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

four ins and outs, midi in and out, digital in and out, pre amps. and it comes with cubase. you're set.

for connecting more gear you have two options -- buy a mixer and then hook that to the interface or skip the mixer and use that money to buy an interface with more ins and outs. then mix in your DAW.

it's going to be about personal preferences, which you won't really find out about till you try things. bit of a catch 22.
