New to Mpc

Im trying to decide which should be my first mpc and would like the opinions of those who have one. Currently i am on the verge of either getting an mpc 2000 or the mpc 1k both are for the same price of $500.. ive never used an mpc before, ive mainly worked on software lately and just reaquired an oldschool korg 01w pro which is what i learned to make beats with.. i want to add some newer hardware into my studio and have been wanting an mpc for a long time.. so both are the same price, both appear to be in mint condition with very minimal use each but i dont know which to get.. someone please help me decide.. im leaning to the 1k right now becuz of usb and its smaller but the 2k is the classic i always wanted.. so please is u have owned both or used both and think u can help me join the akai family, then please help me out.. i got til friday to decide on the 2k. thanks in advance

I got a 2000XL but if I were just starting out fresh, I'd get a black 1K with the fixed pads and JJ OS.

This question has been asked a few times but I appreciate that you have a time limit on making your decision.

As you've worked with software before - Id say go for a 1000 with JJOS. I've used both a 2000 and 1000 and while the 2000 feels 'sturdier' its not like the 1000 is particularly fragile.

But if you do get the 1000 - be sure to get JJOS.

if you can look past the small pads and if yours comes fully functional
they 1000 is a perfect mpc for any level, convenience and ease of use

Well this sucks. The guy with the 1k has dissapeared and I haven't been able to contact him. I can still get the 2k classic but I'm not sure if I can transfer the wav files from my pc to the 2k as easy as I probably could with the 1k or 500. So now I don't know what to do. I still got til tomorrow to hit up the 2k guy or should I just hold out til I find another 1k or maybe save a little more n get the 500 at the store.I don't know anymore
