I ordered a CF card reader ifrom MPCSTUFF.com for my 2000xl in hopes id be able to save my chops to that rather than having to do so on the original floppy drive. I followed the directions and installed 1.2OS before the hardware instaltion and bought a 1gb SanDisk memmory card since it was the recomended one. But every time i flip the mpc over, boot it up, and go to the load page the ATAPI iconnection to the CF card reader isnt getting read and automatically says "no floppy device" everytime. Ive installed this thing over 4 times in the past day and have tried so many diff things and still no go ! Somebody please tell me you know what im talkin about and help me out pleasee ! It sucks not being able to save my shit !

yea, actually the ATAPI doesnt even get read or show up on the screen as an option in the load screen. If the mpc isnt reading the drive or corosponding to the ATAPI being plugged in , could using a different CF card alone make it work with the mpc and read and program the ATAPI input ?

No the card doesn't determine if it reads the drive or not i was just saying cause everybody said the cards he gave them don't work. I can go to ATAPI when there is no card in mine.

werd, yea i just messed around with some jumper settings and i think i touched the tip of an iceburg doin so. But eveytime id change the jumper settings and think i got it to work my mpc will look for a floppy device and almost denies that the atapi is even plugged in there. Is ther a jumper setting in the mpc instead of the driver that can make the mpc not look for a floppy device and program the ATAPi plug in ? cause its still sayin "no floppy device" everytime i go to the load screen
