A lot of times when you get like this, it's good to go back to older projects that are unfinished. If I get to the point where what I'm working on seems like garbage, I just save it with some throw away title. Sometimes when you go back to something like that you find something you really love. Make sure you label everything too, so your able to find the same samples, patches, effects etc. Even if you don't want to go through the trouble of sequencing the whole thing, just make a quick sloppy sample. Then label it and move on. I can't tell you how many times i've revisited something I don't even remember working on to find a true gem. Waiting for inspiration is the biggest mistake I find myself making. For me, it's really best to work through a block. Just keep going through the motions, and when lightning strikes you'll be prepared to bottle it... So really, the button your looking for is ultimately the play button. Peace.
Also, whoever posted that Leadbelly tune... Great stuff right there. I know that song is a classic, but it's never been a song i've remotely liked. Is it Manfered Mann who cover it? Whoever it is I've always hate it when I hear it on the radio, but that version really opened my ears to it. Leadbelly is bad ass.
Looks like a damn nice stack of records for $20 right there.
One more thing... BG. I've always thought it was strange to promote the hell out of your beats to other beat makers, but I feel like all the constant propaganda may be taking hold... I almost bought a beat... Then, I again realized that that would be silly. As I make beats myself. As does everyone on this site. This is a site for beat makers. No one here is shopping for beats. The same rules in the real world sometimes also apply to the virtual one, and you are forgetting the first three rules in business. Location, location, location. I'm not tryin to knock anyone's hustle, ust a friendly tip my man.
