Hey Guys,

i am new to the MPC60 so i hope you can cut me some slack. I purchased it recently after working with the SP12 for 14 Years. But since i am working with AKAI samplers S950 and S5000 from Day one i decided to get rid of the SP and get myself an MPC60II to have an all-akai-setup.

My DAW is cubase 4. I do the vocal and intrument recordings there, therefore i need to get the MPC60 in sync with cubase no matter wich one is slave/master, as long as it syncs them perfectly.

I have made midi connection in both ways - from MPC60 to Computer and vice versa. I did the Sync with MTC and actually it works - Cubase 4 starts the MPC. But since MTC is a position protocol (at least i think so) the Tempo is the MPC shouldn´t matter if it is running in Slave-Mode. But the MPC (if i have the mtronome on) i hear the MPC is much faster. If i set the MPC at the same Tempo as Cubase it works. But i believed this was only necessary for Midi Clock?!?!?!

anyways, this is not my actual problem. My actual Problem is that cubase does start the MPC but too late. It is almost 1/4 of bar later. So actually both amchines running exaclty at the same tempo but staggered. The Midi Connection itself can´t be the problem cuz whan i turn local off in the MPC and use the Pads on the MPC as triggerbuttons and trigger the sounds through Cubase back into the MPC in realtime there is NO delay. And the latency on my system is just fantastic, i never had any problem with this.
I mean, this way, with so much delay in the synchronisation, i can´t work! Does anybody have an idea what i can do to solve this problem?? Is there a way to make this perfectly work?

My Equipment is:
MSI AMD Quad CORE, Tascam FW1884 as MIDI and Audio Interface, Cubase 4, MPC60II.

I hope you can help me out on this.

BTW: is it possible to use the Trasport buttons on the MPC to start cubase via MMC??

Thanks a lot
Mark
