Virus TI2, MPC1000 JJ and 88 Key Controller MIDI Prob ??

Ok So i recently got a Virus Ti2 Desktop and an 88 key midi controller. I am trying to sequence with the mpc1000 with the JJ O.S I am having alot of trouble getting the 1000 to work with midi. So i have a few questions that would be a big help cause i'd really like to start working on music today.

1. Midi out of controller to Midi in of the 1000 to Midi out of 1000 to Midi in of Virus Rack ?Is that right? What settings does the 1000 need to be on for midi and the Virus Ti2 Rack

2. Also to record the audio from the virus back into the 1000 after sequencing how do i do that? I heard it was possible with the JJ OS like it's possible on the mpc4000.

How do you have everything hooked up even?

What do you expect it to do?

What settings have you changed on each device?
