Numb / Numb Encore Sound

Hi guys!

This is my first Post, so sorry if this is the wrong section.
My english is not very good as well so sorry for that too

I'll get an MPC 500 tomorrow and the first Song / Sound I'd like to play is the MPC Sound of Linkin Park in Numb / Numb Encore. Does anyone have this in 16kbps or as MPC Sample? Cause by converting the original Song to 16kbps sounds horrible!

you do know that the mpc 500 is a sampler... right?

that means you can record from your mp3 player or computer or cd player right in to the machine.... you hit record.... and BHAAMM! you got it in the machine. that is what samplers do.



p.s. it also secretly converts it to 16bit wave.... which is what matters... 16kbps mp3? lmao... you actually did that? for what purpose, there is no reason to have any 16kbps mp3s at all what so ever.

So u mean i can reacord from my Computer or my MP3 Player without loosing quality?

you for sure wont be losing quality really.... the mpc doesn't even work with mp3s ... which are lower quality than .wav..


on the back of the mpc there is a left and right audio input (record in) ...

get yourself this:




and get yourself two of these:



you put the little headphone jack into the back of your computer or in your mp3 player and the other end goes into the mpc.


also if you can find one of these then you wont need to get all those up there:


really you should be looking for that ^ but if you cant find one then get the other things i mentioned at the top.

I got everything you said, and i already recorded a few Sounds.
But my Problem is: If i want to replay real Sounds, like the one of Numb, i can't record it cause of the drums in the background. Any idea for this?

it seems like you need to learn about sampling.. thats all i can really say.. watch some beat making videos on youtube..

I will. There's a lot of new information, getting this MPC started the first time...

yeah it will be tough for you to get the drums out of it.... if you had a DAW you might be able to go through some synths and make a similar sounding one to that...

I already tried to make a sound like this, but i failed.
However, here's my last stupid question: Why does my MPC know some wav files, and can't play anotherons, which have the same bitrate?

that I dont know without personally investigating it... but again, you have a sampler, so play it from the computer and sample it into the mpc.

I already did, and it works great.

But now my very last stupid question, cause i didn't find it in the user's manual:
How can i set that a Sound which is on Pad A1 for example, and i press pad A1 again, that the 1. sound stopps, and the 2. begins
Cause if i press more than one time, i can hear all of them, and i want them to stop
For example the first line of Tik Tok: if i want to make:
Pad A1: Wake up in the morning
Pad A2: morning

and i want this: wake up in the morning.....mo-mo-morning
Edit: now its like this:...............................morning
....................................................................morning
.........................................................................morning

you know what i mean? (but without making a pad with just "mo")
I also could do this with my CD Player and its Cue button, but that sucks

or is there a possibility to make sth, that the sound of a Pad sounds just that long, as i stay on the pad with my finger?

I will just give you a hint, look for the setting for poly/mono/note off/etc... I wont make it simpler then that because I hate the song you mentioned in that comment.

And you think i like it? This songs sucks, as each song by Ke$ha, but a DJ has to play what the people want to hear and unfortunately this is one of those songs.
I could try with another example

Pad A1: Work it
Pad A2: Make it
Pad A3: Do it
Pad A4: Makes us

Its like: Work it work it work it
Should be: Work it work work work it

Its already hard enough for me to get all these informations in english, so is there maybe a better describtion of the function i want to have?
